2 Data Standards Submission 3 - yearlong student attendance (regular and flexible), course completions, disciplinary actions, student restraints, Title 1, Part A participation, course sections, and teacher class assignments/staff data Submission 4 – special education extended year services (ESY) student data for the school year, student flexible attendance for credit recovery, and summertime dual credit completions for students

4 Data Standards Identification Records for Staff (040) and Student (100) Use only actual middle names No other characters Field can be left blank No official middle name – leave blank Use middle name as shown on the identification documentation

5 2012-2013 Data Standards Homeless Coding (100 record)
Homeless Status Code – applies to all students; 0=not homeless at any time this school year Unaccompanied Youth Status Code – applies to all students; 0= not unaccompanied Status determined upon enrollment or at the start of school year For PEIMS reporting purposes, all students identified as homeless and/or unaccompanied in the Fall Snapshot must also be coded the same in the summer collection.

6 2012-2013 Data Standards REMINDERs For Submission 3 –
for every student reported with a 100 record, there must be a matching 400 (basic attendance) and/or 500 (flexible attendance) record for that student one 300 Course Section record must be submitted for each reportable unique class (course section) that was offered during the school year for each 300 record reported there must be a matching 305 record where campus-id, service-id, class-id-number, and course-sequence code is the same for each 300 record, there must be a matching 415 record

7 2012-2013 Data Standards REMINDERs (cont.) Economic Disadvantage Code
For Submission 3 – reported based on a student’s last status at the end of the school year or at the end of the student’s enrollment period; whichever comes last For Submission 4 – not reported; must be BLANK *This data is critical at the end of the year for accountability ratings-appeals process.

8 2012-2013 Data Standards Early Reading Intervention Code (105 record)
Report eligibility status based on the latest assessment results available for the student Does NOT apply to all students Required for all KG, 01, and 02 grade level students Must be blank for all other grade level students

9 2012-2013 Data Standards PPCD Service Location Code (163 record)
Decision Chart Added – Data Standards New codes added for PPCD (code table C184) Non-Campus Based Instruction Codes (300 record) New, expanded explanations for codes

10 2012-2013 Data Standards Teacher Class Assignment (305 record)
Teacher of Record- Each course/section must have one “Almost always” in the classroom Begin Date and End Date required “Delivering curriculum to students”; “deciding final outcome” Assistant Teacher- Support Teacher- “Occasionally” in the classroom Delivery of specialized instruction

14 2012-2013 Data Standards Restraints (435 record)
No longer applies to only students receiving special education services Now also reported for all restraints by LEA police officers and SROs Special Education Student Indicator

15 Data Standards New PEIMS Legacy System Data Elements for Summer and Extended Year Collections E TX-UNIQUE-STUDENT-ID has been added to the new 102 Student Demographic record in columns E TX-UNIQUE-STAFF-ID has been added to the 043 Staff Demographic record in columns

16 Data Standards New PEIMS Legacy System Data Elements for Summer and Extended Year Collections E TX-UNIQUE-STUDENT-ID is a unique number assigned to a student by the Texas Education Agency TSDS Unique ID System. E TX-UNIQUE-STAFF-ID is a unique number assigned to a staff member by the Texas Education Agency TSDS Unique ID System.

17 Data Standards Business Rules for TSDS Unique ID Data Elements for Summer Collection for Staff The PRIOR-ID (E0990) field on the 045 Staff ID Number Change record must be blank for Submissions 3 for (Do not report the 045 record for staff that are reported in submission 3.)  Beginning with the Summer collection, all staff demographic data must be first added and then subsequently maintained through the new TSDS Unique ID System.

18 Data Standards Business Rules for TSDS Unique ID Data Elements for Summer Collection for Staff The DEMOGRAPHIC REVISION CONFIRMATION CODE (E0924) on the 043 Staff Identification/Demographic record must be reported as “0” for all staff reported in Submission 3 for the school year.  Beginning with the Summer collection, all demographic data must be first added and then subsequently maintained through the new TSDS Unique ID System.

19 Data Standards Business Rules for TSDS Unique ID Data Elements for Summer and Extended Year Collections The PRIOR-ID (E0990) field on the 105 Student record must be blank for Submissions 3 and 4 for   Beginning with the Summer collection, all student demographic data must be first added and then subsequently maintained through the new TSDS Unique ID System.

20 Data Standards Business Rules for TSDS Unique ID Data Elements for Summer and Extended Year Collections The DEMOGRAPHIC REVISION CONFIRMATION CODE (E0924) on the 101 Student Demographic record must be reported as “0” for all students reported in Submissions 3 and 4 for the school year.  Beginning with the Summer collection, all demographic data must be first added and then subsequently maintained through the new TSDS Unique ID System.

21 Data Standards Business Rules for TSDS Unique ID Data Elements for Summer Collection The only students that will be reported with a 105 Student Record in Submission 3 will be students in grade levels Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade with the Early Reading Indicator Code.
