16 We already know loads of infinitives!
faire de la natation jouer au football jouer au rugby aller à la campagne faire des randonnées faire du shopping any more????

17 building blocks… think of the infinitives as building blocks – let’s make them RED. faire de la natation jouer au football aller en ville

18 building a sentence On their own, the blocks are pretty useless. But if we combine them with MORE blocks, we can build something meaningful. One brick on its own is useless – lots of bricks together make a wall…

19 combining blocks… Can anybody think of anything we could combine our infinitive blocks with to make a sentence?

20 j’aime = I like Yes! Does it make sense? I like to play football
jouer au football Yes! By adding another building block (j’aime) we’ve built a sentence which means something!

21 je n’aime pas = I don’t like
Does it make sense? I don’t like to play football je n’aime pas jouer au football Yes! By adding another building block (je n’aime pas) we’ve built a sentence which means something!

22 More green building blocks…
je déteste I hate j’adore I love je vais*** I am going on peut you are able (or you can) je préfère I prefer

23 Fais les phrases! je préfère je déteste faire de la natation
aller en ville j’adore faire des randonnées visiter les musées on peut jouer au football je vais*** aller à la campagne j’aime aller au stade je n’aime pas écouter de la musique

24 Questions… Qu’est-ce que tu vas faire? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire?

25 successful if you can describe
