2. Mission Statement
The mission of the University of Memphis Student Veterans Organization is to develop a diverse community where all Veterans and qualified dependents will have the maximum opportunity to achieve academic success and personal growth in order to nurture a tradition of lifelong scholarship and service to the community.

3. Campus Veteran Population
Recruiting goal of 15% for 2016

4. Benefits of UC Office Space
Improved access to Veteran resources for a larger portion of students.
Increased ability to effectively engage the Memphis student community.
More space to accommodate one of the largest demographics on campus.
Tackles the negative stigma of exclusion that is felt by Veteran population.
Will be staffed daily by SVO Executive Committee members and volunteers.
The SVO will be eligible to receive a grant of $10,000 to furnish the space that will save the University money.

5. SVO Community Involvement
SVO members are currently involved in a variety of community organizations:
Chickasaw Council, Boy Scouts of America
The Sheep Dog Foundation
The American Cancer Society
Tennessee Adopt-a-Highway Program

6. SVO Campus Involvement
The SVO is constantly working to engage other campus RSOs to become the most involved organization on campus:
St. Jude Up Til Dawn
Sexual Harassment/Assault Awareness Task Force
Veterans Day event
Voter registration drives
Veteran Mentorship Program
