Charles Dickens Was an English realistic publicist and journalist
He is a famous representative of Victorian novel He was born in countryside in 1812 His family was very poor and was in big debt when they moved to London His parents were in prison and he had to work in a factory. Later he started to work as a penman. His first famous writing was The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club

Oliver Twist Oliver is a little orphan whose mother died when he was born. He lived in a workhouse in miserable conditions. One day he decided to escape to London. He met Doger who took him to pickpockets gang.The thieves taught him how to steal, but he didn't do it. When Oliver found people who wanted to look after him, thieves kidnapped him back to the gang. At the end of story he inherited money and found his aunt and discovered that one of thieves was his stepbrother. Bad characters were punished.

Opinions of the book Positive
The story shows real lives of poor people in London in 19th century warts and all. Negative I think that the end of the story is as idealistic as in a fairy tale, but in real life it’s not likely.

New version of film about Oliver Twist is from 2005 directed by polish director Roman Polanski.
