3. Specifically For Higher Education
ANSI should develop a program to introduce standards and their effect on technology and trade into university curricula in business, engineering, and public administration;
All participants should develop case study evidence that demonstrates the value of relying on voluntary consensus standards in both regulation and procurement.

4. Desired Outcomes of Session
Define actions to raise the understanding of standards in higher education particularly in schools of management, engineering, economics, law, public administration and social sciences.
Define ways to strengthen the relationship between the standards community and educational institutions.
Define ways to communicate the right message to faculty and students.
Define topics to include in an academic research agenda for standardization.
