BEHOLD A SOWER WENT FORTH TO SOW Seed is Word of God Lk 8:11; 1Pet 1:23 BEHOLD: to see or call attention to A SOWER: one who labors spreading seed (God’s word) WENT FORTH: action on the part of the sower TO SOW: purpose for going forth "AND WHEN HE SOWED"

SOME SEED FELL BY THE WAYSIDE V 19 Footpath traveled by workers Heb 3:13; Matt 13:15 Fowls devoured the seed (Satan – “wicked one”) Many hear word taught but never receive and obey it Without understanding - no reception

SOME FELL ON STONY GROUND VS 20,21 Received and sprung up quickly Plants withered away because of the sun 1Pet 4:16; 2Tim 3:12 Received with joy, but no depth - same today

The Word (seed) is being taught (sown) today Difference = prepared heart Is your heart hard as wayside soil? Is your faith resting on thin soil of emotion rather than deep conviction? Is life filled with things of world causing your life as a Christian to be in danger of being choked out? Or are you bearing fruit with patience that looks forward to the harvest?
