When to Use Different behaviours for different situations. Example:
Situation: Leadership Behaviour: Impact on Followers: Follower lacks self confidence Supportive leadership High confidence to achieve work outcome Outcome: Satisfaction in performance, More effort

Included Leadership Behaviours
Directive Leader: Lets subordinates know what is expected of them. Schedules work to be done, and gives specific guidance on how to accomplish tasks. Supportive Leader: Leader is friendly and shows concern for the needs of the followers.

Cont. Leadership Behaviours
Participative Leader: Leader consults with group members and uses their suggestions before making a decision. Achievement-Oriented Leader: Leader sets challenging goals and expects followers to perform at their highest level.

Real Life Example Joe ran his own company, graduated University with a MBA, all before joining Sally’s Surplus store. Joe isn’t happy as a front line employee, stocking shelves. He should’ve been promoted two years ago.

Continued The manager receives word of Joe’s problem and decides to make a change. (using achievement –oriented leadership) Joe is promoted to head of sales. Now, Joe works twice as fast, arrives at work early, is motivated, and motivating to others.
