3 Adjective An adjective is a word that is used to modify a noun or pronoun. To modify means to describe the word or to make its meaning more definite.

4 Adjective An adjective modifies a noun or pronoun by telling:
What kind? Which One or Ones? How Much or How Many? Whose? Korean children busy dentist seventh grade these books several days ten dollars Bill’s watch Dr. Smith’s schedule

5 Adjective (continued)
The most commonly used adjectives are a, an, and the. These adjectives are called articles. Examples of Articles: The shoe just does not fit. A chicken clucked. An answer is required.

6 Demonstrative Adjectives
This, that, these, and those can be used both as adjectives and as pronouns. When they modify a noun or pronoun, they are called demonstrative adjectives. When they are used alone, they are called demonstrative pronouns.
