Research Topics We are open to all innovative research proposals but some areas we have particular interest in: A National Research Study Comparing Outcomes and Components of Current New Graduate RN Transition-to-Practice Program: What are the Essential Elements? Truth vs. Myth: Can New Graduate RNs Successfully Transition to Critical Care, Home Health, and other Specialty Practice Areas? Defining the Meaning and Measurement of a “Safe and Competent” Nurse in New Roles. Evidencing that Optimized Transitioning of RNs into New Roles (New Graduates, Nurse Managers, or Nurses Changing Specialty Areas) Helps a Healthcare Organization Reduce Costs, Improve Efficiency, Promote Safety, and Build Capacity. Studying How Return on Investment, in Terms of Both Economic Success and Safety/Quality, can be measured? What Factors Must be Present to Get an Accurate ROI? Does Non-random Error Within a Healthcare Facility Decline as a Function of Implementing a Discrete Organizational Development Infrastructure such as a Residency? What is the optimal amount of time for “coaching” nurses in new roles? What influences the variance in time needed to become fully functional in a new role?
