Chaparral biomes are usually located close to the oceans and are found in all parts of the world
They are characterized by having a Mediterranean climate
Moderately dry
Coastal climate
Little to no rain in the summer
Temperatures range from 30 F to 100 F

These tend to grow together in dense patches
Common plants in chaparral are:

Plants in the chaparral have small leathery leaves that retain water
The leaves also contain oil that promote burning
These plants can resprout from very small bits of surviving plant tissue
The chaparral biome uses fires to destroy trees that might compete with the chaparral plants

9. Animals Some animals that live in the chaparral biome include
Quail, lizards, chipmunks and mule deer
Major adaptation for the animals is similar to the major adaptation in the grassland…..
