Jemtegaard Trail Project A project connecting Jemtegaard schools to Sunset Ridge Drive
2
Jemtegaard Trail Project was originally funded by a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) which is a federal grant administered by WSDOT Total funding for design, permitting, and construction was $599,000. Design contract portion funded was $148,305. Design and permitting are 90% complete and construction is scheduled for summer of 2017 Project will be completed by late 2017 or early 2018

Jemgetaard Trail Original design contract was $107,000
Four additions to the original design contract are being requested; 1) Survey determined that Right of Way shown on Clark County GIS was more than the actual Right of Way on Sunset View Road requiring design changes to the road section adjacent to the sidewalk 2) Archaeological Impacts – Due to the proximity of the trail to a known archaeological site near Gibbons Creek, the trail had to be relocated to avoid conflict with this site. 3) Shoreline Permit – A portion of this project is located in Clark County which adopted a new shoreline ordinance in 2015. 4) Right of Way – WSDOT now requires that temporary construction easements which are utilized for construction only, are treated similar to a Right of Way acquisition. Total for all the modifications is $47,300 bringing the design contract amount up to $154,300. City transportation funds in the amount of $5,995 would be required to cover the amount not covered by the $148,305 design fund authorization.
