Enzyme: a protein that regulates and speeds up biological reactions by building or breaking molecules. Type1: Anabolic enzymes Type 2: Catabolic enzymes Gather 4 different colors: *Substrate- molecule that reacts (broke or built) *Active site- Where reaction happens. *Enzymes stay the same and can be used again. *If you change the pH or Temp you can break an enzyme *Examples: -Lactase (enzyme), breaks down lactose (milk sugar) -amylase (enzyme in saliva), breaks down starch (in your mouth) -helicase (enzyme), unzips DNA for replication
