The Land of Canada Oceans surround Canada on the east , west , and north. Canada’s coastline is 151,488 miles long. The Great Lakes contain almost 20 percent of the world’s fresh surface water. Many big cities were built here , including Ottawa , the country’s capital.

GOVERNING CANADA Canadian independence would not happen all at once.
Confederation was formed in 1867. Then , in 1931 , an agreement was made so Canada could make its own laws for the first time. In 1913 more than 400,000 new people immigrate to Canada.
