2017/2018 Missing / Incomplete Work Policy * It is the student’s responsibility to check the Absent Work Folder when they return to school. Students are encouraged to ask a trusted classmate for any questions about missed work before talking with me. Then if needed, students may arrange to come to tutorials for additional help. * If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due the first day student returns to school. * Students have up to 3 days to turn in any work missed while absent. If a quiz or test was given while the student was absent, they must schedule to come in during tutorials to make up the missed assessment. * If a student fails to complete and turn in their work by class end due to off-task behavior, they will be assigned a ZAP where they will complete their work during their lunch period. Students will remain in ZAP until the work is complete, or up to 3 days. Students who receive a total of 3 ZAPs will receive a 1 hour after school detention per campus policy. * Students with missing work, such as homework or a project, will be given a ZAP until work is complete. Technology Berry Miller is a BYOD campus, meaning students are allowed to bring their own device to use when allowed on campus. However, in my classroom, students are to keep their devices put away and out of sight, placed in the designated area, or left in their locker unless permission is given to use. If the student is asked more than once to put their device away when not being used, it will be taken up and turned in to the office for a $15 return fee. Students may only use their device in class when given permission by the teacher, but NEVER when there is a substitute. Students are also not permitted to use their device in the hallways. Plagiarism is the taking of ideas and/or writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. Turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. Copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class or during lunch) 3. Including a source but failing to cite it 4. Copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Remind Information Enter this number: 81010 Text this message: @msshuptar
