*Line has length and width
A mark drawn by a tool such as a pencil, pen, or paint brush as it moves across a surface. Lines can be long or short, thick or thin, rough or smooth, and broken or solid. *Line has length and width *Lines can convey moods and feelings, express ideas and action.

A shape is a flat, enclosed area that has two dimensions-length and width.
Shapes can be geometric or organic.

Form is very similar to shape, except it occupies three dimensional space. It has width, height and depth. *Forms can be viewed from many sides. *We are surrounded by forms.

Color is one of the most exciting elements of art.
Color depends on light because it is made of light. There must be light for us to see color. *The color wheel is made up of the three primary, three secondary and six intermediate colors. *Artists use color schemes to create mood.

The darkness or lightness of a color.
* The difference between color values is called Value Contrast.

Space refers to the distance or area between, around, above, below or within things.
*Sculptor, craftspeople and architects work with actual Space. * Painters and other artists work with two dimensions- height and width.

Positive (filled with something) and Negative (empty areas).

Texture is the surface quality or "feel" of an object.
*Textures are all around us in our environment and in nature. *Texture is perceived by touch and sight. * Interior designers and architects use textural variety to create interest.
