Problem - Solution Hungarian youngsters have a much harder time travelling abroad than adults do. Financial, social and language barriers all hinder them in getting to know foreign people, cultures, and widening their scope of thinking abroad. Though the European Parliaments proposal would make travelling free throughout the continent, it still mainly ignores the above mentioned three factors. Telekom would help fight the aforementioned problems by creating an online community and platform which would also help youngsters prepare for the journey. Also, a major goal would be to not let the tour fade away just as a good memory, but something that could really connect younger people to foreign cultures and serve as a good basis for their future as well.
3
The idea For such purposes, we would create a website, the corresponding Facebook Page and Facebook Group, and also a mobile application. The former three could be used as a platform to help the users prepare for the trip (Trip-Planning, Language lessons etc.), the latter one could be utilised to gain special discounts abroad during their trip. Moreover, by partnering with other companies, Telekom would offer two-week trainee / volunteer programs to those who speak English moderately well. Participants could immerse themselves more in a given country’s culture, and could also earn some funds necessary for their 2 week-long trip.
4
Website structure Sub-sections within the website would contain:
About us – our agenda - „Utazástervező” – for planning trips in Google map motor, creating bucket lists) „Szpík Inglis” – (simple, useful video content for practising English – co-operation with „5 perc Angol”) „Közösség” – Search among members, Facebook Page and Group info. „Leírás az alkalmazásról” – Info about the application and its purpose. Trainee-programs abroad – for those who would want to earn the money they spend abroad. Profile
5
Application By using downloading and using the app during the trip, users could complete „mini-quests” to gain points that could be used up to purchase products or services of the contracted partners (youth hostels, fast restaurants, cafés etc.)
6
Mechanism On the website youngsters could plan their trips in the Trip-Planner. They could also study useful phrases in English necessary for their stay in the „Szpík Inglis” section. Furthermore, since their profile could be linked with their Facebook profile, they could also search for members who would want to go to the same country as them and get in touch with them via Facebook („Közösség” section). The Facebook Page would be primarily focused on educating the users about the trip and good-to-know-s. The Facebook Group’s purpose would be to post testimonials and answer questions related to the program and other user shenanigans.

Additional idea The InterRail ticket might be a blessing for youngsters, but older people are totally excluded from the program. For sharing their ultimate joy of travelling, Telekom would call on youngsters on social media to create content in which they would present a story of a loved one or friend who may not be eligible for the free ticket, but his/her story is so heartwrenching that Telekom needs to fund it. The prize would be, of course, several InterRail tickets so that the winner and his company could travel together. The website would also have a non-registrational version where parents could find useful information about the program we offer their children.
