Spanish 1 Spanish 1 covers Realidades 1
Students learn vocabulary about everyday situations Present indicative tense Spanish speaking culture, history and geography. Lessons are based on the new CA World Language Standards We always connect Spanish to other content areas and cultures

Spanish 2 Spanish 2 covers Realidades 2
We will cover the present, the past and the future tenses. We continue our study of culture, history, and geography Students have the opportunity to do extra credit project to improve their grades

Spanish 3 Spanish 3 reviews all the grammar while expanding vocabulary and reading skills. Students read short stories, poems and newspaper articles in order to learn more about Spanish speaking cultures. Spanish 3 covers Realidades 3.

Check Jupitergrades for missing assignments and current grade Ask your students what they learned today Have them teach you some Spanish.

At San Pedro High students, teachers, and parents work together to make learning better!

Classroom Expectations
Class Rules All hats should be removed All electronics put away; no texting or phone calls during class Water is the only drink allowed in class No chewing gum Be respectful of your teacher and classmates Bring your textbook, workbook and notebook to class every day; make sure you have paper and a writing instrument In class participation is a very important part of your grade. Be on time and be prepared to work.

Attendance Policy & Class Partication
School policy: no more than 7 days absent for the entire school year to participate in extra curricular activities. Class participation: 15% of your grade

Classroom Instruction
CLASS of 2013 Classroom Instruction Direct instruction; followed by guided practice and then independent work We use double bubble maps to help compare and contrast and exit tickets as a quick assessment Teaching strategies to increase understanding (Cooperative groups, Talk time, discussion, Think-Pair-Share, all leading to higher levels of thinking)
