Due to a physiological difference (diagnosis, injury or impairment), individual is at a deficit, must be accommodated. The environment disables people with impairments by its design. … equality of educational opportunity for all students. SDS is the designated office that obtains and files disability-related documents, certifies eligibility for services, determines reasonable accommodations, and develops plans for the provision of accommodations for students.

15 Disability Services Students seeking academic accommodations for specific learning disabilities, medical disabilities, psychological disabilities or attention deficit disorders, are required to contact the Office of Student Affairs. The initial step in requesting accommodations is to complete the Disability Notification and Accommodation Request Form. It is the responsibility of individuals with disabilities to inform us of their needs, and to provide documentation of their disability.

To be eligible for the program, you must have a disability verified by a physician, psychologist or other appropriate professional. If you have a learning disability, you should bring copies of your test scores.

Students with disabilities are one of the many groups that make up our campus community and a diverse community broadens our understanding and appreciation for the contributions of each individual. We provide leadership and guidance regarding accommodations and universal access, which requires a collaborative relationship among all members of the university community.
