Grammar IF 1 - The zero conditional .. If …… present simple …,…… present simple ……… . Example: - If we heat water , it boils . We use the zero conditional to state a general truth or something that always happens ..

- The first conditional .. If ……… present simple ……… , ……… will + inf. ……… We use the first conditional to state something which is possible to happen in the present or future .. Example: - If you make much effort , you will get high marks. If ……… present simple ……… , inf. ……… - If there is danger , call the police . If ……… present cont. ……… , …… will + inf. ……… - If he is coming , I will be happy . If ……… present perfect …… , …… will + inf. …… - If he has come , I will be happy .

If ……… past simple ………, …… would + inf. ……… . We use the second conditional to state something which is imaginary / unreal or unlikely to happen in the present or future. . Example: - If he didn’t play well , he would lose the match . Notice We can use “ If I were you , I would …… . “ to give advice Example: - If I were you , I would buy a new car .
