WiMAX is:
Acronym for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access.
Based on Wireless MAN technology.

A certification that denotes interoperability of equipment built to the IEEE or compatible standard.

6. What is a ?
The a standard for 2-11 GHz is a WMAN technology.
The IEEE Working Group develops standards that address two types of usage models:
A fixed usage model (IEEE ).
A portable usage model (IEEE e).

7. WiMAX Speed and Range Initial speed of nearby 40MBPS
Could be deployed in a variety of spectrum bands: 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz, 3.5GHz, and 5.8GHz

8. WiMAX SALIENT FEATURES
Two types of services:
Non-line-of-sight
Line-of-sight
Very high peak data rates
Adaptive modulation and coding
WiMAX uses OFDM
