are areas similar
or different?”
A region is an
area of the earth’s
surface with
similar physical
and/or cultural characteristics.

7. HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION
This theme means “How do people
relate to the physical world?”
Human-Environment interaction simply
refers to the relationship between
people and their surroundings.
In parts of the world that are
prone to flooding, people
must resort to building
their homes on stilts.
