LOCATION Location means “Where is it?” absolute location: the exact place on earth where a geographic feature is found relative location: describes a place in comparison to other places around it Our campus is located at 2211 N Austin Ave, Georgetown, Texas.

Place means “What is it like?”
Place includes the physical features and cultural characteristics of a location. Venice, Italy, with its canals and gondolas, is one of the most recognized places in the world.

REGION The Tyrol is a region of the Alps that is home
to Austrians, Germans, and Italians. Region means “How are areas similar or different?” A region is an area of the earth’s surface with similar physical and/or cultural characteristics.

HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION
This theme means “How do people relate to the physical world?” Human-Environment interaction simply refers to the relationship between people and their surroundings. In parts of the world that are prone to flooding, people must resort to building their homes on stilts.

Movement means “How do people, ideas, and goods move from place to place?” a Mongolian yurt (house)
