The Founder of Anthropometry
This system identified individuals by measuring their physical traits. The measurements were made into a formula made for one individual then it was placed on a card with their “mug shot” Alphonse used this method to identify many offenders

New methods of Alphonse
Created tools including organized criminal albums, descriptive notes, and police logs He also applied his organization methods to the archive of “sommiers judiciaires” This archive had descriptions of all convicted criminals

Photography at Crime Scenes
Photography used to document crime scenes and evidence Using a high tripod to document the scene before it was examined by investigators
