2 INTRODUCTION On December 7, 2016 our class took a field trip to the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford, CT We visited the following floors/exhibits...

3 Floor 4, Forces in motion! Design a car: This part of the exhibit is to show how your design effects the speed of the car. For example, the shape of your wheels (square or circle) and the amount of weight you put on it. We had fun making different cars with different wheels and different amounts of weight. Wind directions affects sailboat progress: This part of the exhibit teaches you how wind and sail direction effects the progress of the sailboat. We had fun playing with the direction of the sail to make it progress. Guide a beach ball: This exhibit teaches you how if you change wind path an object filled with air will follow. For Example, you place a beach ball on top of a cone that wind is blowing through, you tilt the wind path to put the beach ball into the hoop. We had fun guiding the beach balls into the hoop.

4 Forces in Motion continued!
Design your own heliflyer: This part of the exhibit teaches you how wind effects drag and lift. For example you create a paper heliflyer and place it on top of a air table. The design of the paper increases drag which lifts the paper. We had fun playing with the paper heliflyer. Throw ball with the help of a robot: This part of the exhibit shows how to use robot technology and aim to shoot a ball. You change the X and Y of the robot and shoot it and the robot shoots the ball at the angle you choose. We had fun playing with X and Y and attempting to shoot the ball into the shapes.

5 Here are some pictures from additional parts of this Exhibit!
Block Tower! 12 blocks

6 Floor 5, Exploring Space Make a moon crater: This teaches you how impact and heavy mass create a creator using force exerted from the universe. For example the machine shoots a ball into hardened powder to create a hole like crater. We had fun creating creators! Lay back in a space pod: This part of the exhibit teaches you about exploring space while relaxing in a pod with a partner. We had fun exploring the milky way and the planets! NASA Space suit demo: This part of the exhibit explains the NASA space suit and how different designs on it function. We had fun exploring the different parts of the space suit and how they work. Real moon rock: This shows what a real moon rock looks like! This is pretty self explanitory, we had fun exploring space and seeing what an actual moon rock looks like!

7 Here are some more images of different parts of this exhibit!
We all take on the 360 room! Ring the bell in the invention room! Exploring space pod!

8 Floor 5, Sports Lab Speed pitch challenge: This part of the exhibit is to test how fast you can exert a force and hit the target. We had fun seeing which one of us could exert a faster sport. Crash test helmets: This part of the exhibit shows how different types of helmets can take different amounts of pressure. Measure your strength: This part of the exhibit shows you how could your strength is by allowing you to pull up on a bar or push to platforms away from each other. We had fun testing which one of us is the strongest, Chris won. Win a race only using your brain waves: This part of the exhibit shows you how to relax your brain so you can win the race! The trick is to totally relax and not move. Keep your eyes shut and clear your mind.

9 Additional pictures From the sports/health lab!
Mindball, Kayleigh won! Chris on the ski simulator

10 Pictures and fun facts from floor 6, Earth!
What direction is Enfield in? Group selfie with the dinosaur demo in the earth room!

11 Overall! Overall our group had a great time at the science center! We enjoyed learning things from all the exhibits! Fun fact, There are additional exhibits we didn’t visit! The science center is filled with so many amazing exhibits and we cant wait to visit again! Rate 1-10, Kayleigh-10 Chris-10 Marcos-9.8 Kate-9.6
