4 What does CJI do? Our national-scale consulting practice works with elected officials, policy makers, and thought leaders to effect significant justice and safety reforms. We help our clients improve public safety and justice by Bridging the gap between research and practice Using data to promote accountability and achieve results Providing non partisan consulting services, policy analysis and research Empowering stakeholders to implement sustainable systemic change 4

9 Three areas targeted for expansion
Growth for 2016 Three areas targeted for expansion Pretrial services planning and reform: CRJ is currently working in TN, DE and MA. Our style emphasizes effective use of tools relies on staff training. Restrictive Housing: CRJ is currently working with MN on an assessment of practices and policies and in SD on a pilot program. RH is often called solitary confinement or administrative segregation. Applications are pending in other states and we are aggressively seeking other funds to advance our model. Police Oversight: CRJ is currently part of the court ordered monitoring team in Cleveland. We are also the evaluator of the COPS Office CRI-TA Initiative in 7 sites.

Sources of funds The CJI Portfolio is funded nearly entirely with funds raised from external entities In FY 16 YTD we have been awarded $7,276,263.77 JRI money is for 3 years, the TN money is for 4 years. Excited about all of it, however, BJA $ is particularly meaningful as it provides CJI credentials for the JRI work, and the TN money is a 4 year project on pretrial justice, an area of hoped for expansion and growth 10
