1 Analyzing Games of Chance Investigation 5 – How Likely Is It?
5.1 Roller Derby In a game of Roller Derby two teams compete. Each team needs a game board with columns numbered 1-12, a pair of number cubes, and 12 markers. RULES: *Each team places it’s 12 markers into the columns any way it chooses. *Each team rolls a number cube. The team with the highest roll goes first. *Teams take turns rolling the two number cubes and removing a marker from the column with the same number as the total shown on the cubes. If the column is empty no markers are removed. *First team to remove all markers (clear the board) wins!

2 Analyzing Games of Chance Investigation 5 – How Likely Is It?
What is a good strategy for placing your markers on the board? (answer this after playing a full game two times) Problem 5.1 Follow Up: Find a systematic way to list all possible outcomes of the two number cubes and the sums for these outcomes. Look at this carefully before answering b-c. What sums are possible when you roll two cubes? Which sum/sums occur most often? How many ways can you get sum = 6? Sum = 2? Are all sums equally likely? Now do you have another idea for a winning strategy? Play again using this new strategy!
