Don't wait for the deadline- better to be done by Wednesday.
Poster Title (84 pt) Your name, mentor name, additional authors, advisor name (62 pt) Department(s) and University(ies) Describe the work – The problems, objectives, results, and conclusions should be stated briefly and concisely. (56) It is important that your poster clearly present the details of your project, but should not overload the viewer (it is not a book). The poster's purpose is to “show” your project. You will be able to explain the poster to those who come by. Please remember this may be viewed by those who may not be knowledgeable in the underlying scientific principles. Section Title (60) Be sure you get the approval of all authors and your advisor before printing the poster! Absolute Drop Dead DEADLINE For 2016 Printing for NCN students at Burton Morgan is 5pm on Friday, July 29th. NO POSTERS SUBMITTED AFTER THIS WILL BE PRINTED. You will have to pay out of your own pocket for a poster to be printed elsewhere. Tips to remember Use a combination of illustrations and words & Don’t use too many words Use a non-sarif font. ("Sans serif") Take advantage of the power of graphical elements. Graphics should be high resolution (about 200 pixels per inch, or you will see pixelation at the large sizes) Leave about 20% white space - Don't put content close to the edges of the poster- keep a nice margin Imagine the flow of ideas and where you the viewer will be standing. Arrange poster elements so that there is a sensible visual flow: From Top to bottom then left to right Number elements with bold numerals or use arrows to mark the suggested flow. Presenting Text Select one or two easy-to-read fonts. Text should be set in a large font pt minimum, 30 to 50 pt preferred Use larger, bold font for headings - smaller font for details and footnote. Spel check and proof read you're text! ;-) Don't wait for the deadline- better to be done by Wednesday. Acknowledgements Say thank you to the people and programs that gave you significant support. (45) Include the NSF funding statement and the NSF logo: Your project may have additional funders who need to be included as well.
