3 The EUMEDGRID e-Infrastructure
25 EUMEDGRID sites have been deployed in 13 countries, giving a total of 1800 connected Servers and about 84 TBs of storage capacity

4 User Support and ROC User support is provided by a 2 levels support structure: First level, local support to users Second level centralized support Extensive training is provided to site administrators Enabling new resources for local support An EUMED Regional Operation Centre (ROC) has been created during the project under Africa ROC Initial support and training on ROC procedures and tools provided by the IGI ROC (Italian Grid Infrastructure)

8 XGUS: Portal A Support Unit is created in XGUS for each site.
When Users or Site Admins discover troubles on EUMEDGRID sites they can post tickets using XGUS ( All tickets are immediately assigned to the L1 support team by the system Persons in the L1 Support Team are provided by all project’s partners They are all included in the mailing list – which gets automatically notified of new tickets L1 Support tries to debug and solve the issue. If not able to, assigns is further to: -The Site Support Unit -The specific branch of the L2 support

10 Ticket Workflow Tickets are solved by Ticket is closed
Site Support units or L2 Support Units or L1 support Ticket is closed Set to be verified by users Users can verify the ticket or reopened by the user

11 Posting a ticket First verify that the same problem has not been posted already Specify required notification On every change/On Solution Possibly add people in CC Describe the problem – input both: Short description as a summary (useful information) Detailed description of the problem Specify Affected VO and { VO-specific on non-VO specific} (radio button) Affected site Required priority Possibly upload an attachment (max 2MB) Press “submit” button

12 EUMEDGRID-Support User Forum
The EUMEDGRID-Support User Forum, organized by the EUMEDGRID-Support project and co-located with the EGI Technical Forum, will be held in Lyon, France, September 2011. The User Forum will showcase the most relevant scientific and technological results achieved by Virtual Research Communities supported by the project and those existing around the world and the Mediterranean area.
