Found in clean, cold waters streams, ponds, and lakes
Members of trout and salmon family State Fish Have "worm track” markings on their backs White lines along their fins Other names : Eastern Brook Trout , Speckled Trout, Square-tail, and Brookie.

lots of oxygen Found mostly: in fast moving streams, cold mountain lakes and ponds. Good habitat is key to catching colorful fish Find them around : tree roots, fallen trees, undercut banks, and edges of large rocks.

Live for 2 yrs - max. 5 Grow no more than 12 in. Find them in fall when they spawn Colors of the male become much brighter Females make nest on the gravel bottom of the stream Unpolluted water and clean stream are important top the survival of trout eggs

Eats aquatic insects (babies)
Crayfish, worms, and smaller fish EATEN BY: Kingfishers, mergansers, raccoons, or fishermen
