Financial “Fit” and Financial Aid
No surprises! Your family must research the total costs of each college and your ability to pay Use the tools found on the PVS website Paying for College/Funding Strategies and college Net Price Calculators Merit v. Need based Aid (know the difference!) The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) available in October of your Senior year will determine your family’s financial need More info to follow (3/30) Attend our financial aid night next October

Standardized Testing: SAT and ACT
College Planning/Standardized Testing The PVS website describes the different tests (including SAT IIs and APs), and offers information on test preparation resources, suggested timelines and strategies, and fee waivers. SAT – sat.collegeboard.org ACT - Test Preparation – In house, online and private companies (Revolution Prep)

Athletes/NCAA Clearinghouse If planning to participate in Division 1 or 2 athletics, you need to register with NCAA Clearinghouse Complete “Athletic Transcript Request” online Military Academies Begin application process during Junior year (Now!) Go to websites for more information and to apply Special Programs – First Generation & Low SES Questbridge and Fly-in Opportunities
