3 Writing Non Negotiables
I can use the first three or four letters of a word to check its spelling in a dictionary. I can plan my writing by noting and developing ideas, drawing on reading and research where necessary. I can plan my writing by identifying the audience and the purpose of the writing, and I can select the right model to use. I can use connectives to build cohesion within a paragraph [e.g. then, after that, this, firstly] I can write with increasingly legibly, fluently and with increasing speed.

4 Reading Non Negotiables
I can maintain positive attitudes to reading and understanding of what I have read by: Continuing to read and discuss an increasingly wide range of fiction, poetry, plays, non-fiction and reference books or textbooks. Checking that the book makes sense, discussing my understanding and exploring the meaning of words in context

5 Maths Non Negotiables Read, write, order and compare numbers to at least and knowt he value of each digit Multiply and divide numbers mentally using known facts Multiply and divide whole numbers and decimal numbers by 10, 100 and 1000 Use rounding to check answers when completing problems Round decimals with two decimal places to the nearest whole number and to one decimal place Recognise and use square numbers and the notation (2) Multiply and divide whole numbers and those involving decimals by 10, 100 and 1000 Round any number up to to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, and  Use chunking written methods to divide Use vertical multiplication confidently Use compact methods to add and subtract involving exchanging

6 Homework Spellings to be given out on a Monday. Children are to write these out everyday and on the following Monday they need to be tested. New spellings will then be given out The children are expected to read or be read to every day for 20 minutes. They then need to write a blurb in their homework diaries. Weekly comprehension or maths activity Topic based projects or tasks may also be set

7 PE Kit- to be in on a Monday and go home on a friday
Trainers Coloured house t-shirt Shorts or tracksuit bottoms- no leggings Hair tied back and no jewellery

8 Excel Tracking Each child will have an individual tracking sheet with objectives which need to be mastered for writing, reading, maths and science. These will be used to determine whether they are working towards, working within, expected or exceeding at greater depth.
