Rendering Screen format ratio Standard academy format: which is essentially a 4:3 ratio Widescreen format: widescreen (or 16 X 9 nches), which is a 1.85:1 format
26
Rendering Resolution Most TV and computer monitors use a 72-ppi resolution A full-screen image measurement of 720 X 480 pixels (or 720 X 576 pixels for TV in the United Kingdom and other PAL-based regions). High-definition screens, however, require a larger screen dimension. One of the most standard is 1920 X 1080 pixels. Others can be used also, as long as they conform to a basic 16 X 9 screen ratio
27
The standard projection rate for film is 24 fps.
Rendering Frame rates The standard projection rate for film is 24 fps. On TV in the United States and other NTSC broadcast regions around the world, 24 fps or, more usually, 30 fps is the requirement. In the United Kingdom and other PAL broadcast regions of the world, the TV projection rate is 25 fps. Computers run at 30 fps and video games at 60 fps (in this case, “ fields ” per second, which is eff ectively the equivalent of 30 “ frames ” per second).
