Curriculum Math: 90 minutes daily
Reading/ Language Arts: 135 minutes daily Science/Social Studies: 45 minutes daily NOTE: students are expected to pass 3 out of 4 core subjects to be promoted to sixth grade.

Grading Policy Cont… Unfinished Work- Students will take unfinished work home to finish as homework. If unfinished, they will complete it during PRIDE. Late Work- students will lose certain privileges until late work is turned in. Make up Work- If a student is absent, the opportunity will be given to complete it based on the number of days missed and the number of assignments that are incomplete.

Testing Weekly Assessments – spelling /vocabulary
Weekly open book science / social studies quiz Unit Assessments in math, science, and social studies Periodic math quizzes Universal Screeners – Fluency, informal decoding inventory, and SRI in reading Fact fluency in math Georgia Milestones – took the place of CRCT

Power School You can check your child’s grades on our online grading system called Power School. See the office to set up your username and password.

School Wide Discipline
Students are expected to adhere to the school rules no matter where they are on the school grounds or who they are with. Be in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, with the right materials. Show respect for yourself, others, and school property. Be responsible and accept consequences for your choices. Leave gum, candy, toys, and other unacceptable items at home.

Patriot Bucks and Pride Time
10 Patriot Bucks a week in the form of a debit card located in the blue daily folder Students can lose patriot bucks for misbehavior Students can earn patriot bucks for good behavior and classroom jobs. PRIDE Time is every Friday and it requires at least five patriot bucks on the debit card. Student can lose PRIDE Time for not having enough Patriot Bucks, for missing work, or for having a write up. PRIDE stands for Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Dependable, and Encouraging
