2. Welcome to Fifth Grade! Fifth Grade Teachers Math Science
Reading/ELA/Social Studies
This block will consist of two hours each day. Integrated within this block will be:
Word Study (Spelling, Vocabulary, Grammar)
Reading Workshop (Comprehension, AR, Strategies, STAAR preparation)
Writing Workshop (Grammar, Writing Process, Thought development)
Social Studies Workshop (American history integrated into reading and language program)
Math
Each student receives ninety minutes of math instruction each day, which includes:
5th Grade Math Concepts
STAAR Preparation
Spiraled Review
Mastering Multiplication Facts
Science
Students will learn new concepts through hands-on investigations, research, and discovery.
