1 Book Projects Requirements & Rules

2 Life-sized models Your favorite characters must consist of TWO characters One must be the main character The second one can be anybody in the book They need to be full-sized and have all the characteristics of a human. Please bring clothes to dress them in. Must tell role and your relation to two characters in the book

3 Act out a scene You must act out the climax of the book
You will have to turn in a completed typed script with stage directions/lines You must come in to rehearse the scene before school, after school or during lunch under my supervision

4 Stage Scene from the book and it cannot be from the beginning.
The climax of the book would be the easiest or the resolution. The explanation must be one full page including the following: Why you chose the scene Who is in the scene What is going on in the scene Where/When the scene takes place Textual Evidence of descriptions

5 Feature Article This must look like a newspaper article Includes:
Heading 500 word article is minimum for most newspapers Will be able to type out final draft and put it all together Must include a photo of important part within the scene

6 Original Song This must summarize the whole book
Each group member needs to have a verse in the song Verses are 7-10 lines Chorus is 5 lines Must turn in a complete copy of song lyrics with parts broken up

7 Book Jacket Includes front cover, spine and back cover
Front cover tells story of the book without giving anything away Spine has book name AND author Back cover is briefly describing book without giving away the ending. Must be at least as long as original summary of the book

8 Magazine Collage You will choose photos to make a collage of the book
You will have to describe on a separate sheet of paper why you chose each photo with textual evidence on how this is representative of the book 15 photo minimum

9 Different Beginning You will handwrite the first copy
It needs to be as long as your first five pages You will format this in Google Docs to match a book layout before printing. Once typed out, you will see what more you need to write Needs to include big parts of introduction EX: Monument 14 has a hail storm in the beginning that is setting up the entire book

10 Poster Your job is to make me want to read your book
Include photos/text Must have color of some sort and you will have to make a complete rough draft before I give you any poster board Text evidence explaining why you chose what you did

11 Sketches You must include 6 sketches
2 from the beginning, 2 from the middle and 2 from the end Your explanation must include why you chose that scene and a brief description of what is going on
