2 ePrescribing If you use SureScripts in other practice environments, the Remedy ePrescribe system will be very similar. Teladoc utilizes ePrescribing to: • Reduce errors • Provide physicians with drug-to-drug and drug allergy interaction alerts • Expedite the prescription process with the pharmacy

3 You will be able to click if an allergy is a drug or food allergy.

4 ePrescribing If ‘Drug’ is selected, a drop down menu is provided to choose the appropriate selection. You can also begin typing in the box for a quick search.

5 ePrescribing The RX section in the member’s EHR allows physicians the ability to update a member’s medications. You will have the ability to begin typing the medication that the member takes. A list of medications will appear to choose from when the appropriate selection appears.

6 ePrescribing The option to change a pharmacy for a member is available but must be completed prior to the prescription window population. Click on Change pharmacy in blue then find member preferred pharmacy with the search feature. Search by zip code, City and pharmacy name.

7 ePrescribing Select the pharmacy of choice from search results.

8 ePrescribing New pharmacy will now be listed as pharmacy for consult. Note: Pharmacy change must occur prior to the completion of the prescription for the member for it to be sent to correct pharmacy.

9 ePrescribing When adding a prescription for a member during the consult, you will move to the RX section. If ePrescribing IS open in the state the member is in and a SureScripts supported pharmacy IS chosen, you will see the Electronic Prescription window populate for completion.

11 ePrescribing Result: A list of medications will appear in alphabetical order (based on your search criteria). Any drug in which the member may have an adverse reaction to (through reporting of allergies to that drug or via another drug) will display the skull/crossbones symbol next to it.

12 ePrescribing Click on the drug you are prescribing. Result: A page will appear with that drug information on it. Additional drug information is available by clicking on any of the grey bars to expand that section of information. Name

13 ePrescribing Click the drop down to select the drug form. Result: The drug data page displays.

14 ePrescribing Enter the instructions by clicking in the grey fields (Dose/Qty, Unit, and Frequency). Choose if Dispense as Written is applicable. Enter Prescription Quantity, and Select the Unit form. Enter any additional notes necessary to communicate to the pharmacist. NOTE: If you are adding a medication you expect to prescribe frequently, click the ‘Add To Quick-RX’ box. This will then display this medication in your Quick- RX list on the first page.

15 ePrescribing Review the information provided.
If you need to edit the drug information or change the drug completely, click ‘Edit RX’ or ‘Change Drug’ and you will return to the previous screens to update the information. If the information is correct, click ‘submit prescription’ at the top of the page. Result: A verification notice will display at the top of the screen showing that the prescription was successful.

16 ePrescribing If you need to add another prescription, click ‘Add Prescription’ and repeat the process. If all prescriptions have been added, click ‘Continue’. Inform the member the prescription has been submitted. Note: Pharmacy times for prescription fulfillment can take up to 2 hours depending on the wait times at the pharmacy. Please instruct member to call pharmacy for prescription status prior to traveling to the pharmacy. If member has pharmacy issues consult completion, the best contact is TELADOC. The call center can assist with any issues for the member.
