We remove obstacles. Our programs help students access Canada’s competitive public university system. We offer transfer credit to dozens of schools, award Associate Degrees, launch MBA programs and enable work experience options. Most of our students transfer to their choice university within just 1-2 years, contributing their credits and saving time. Some obstacles your students face before coming to Canada: Lack of academic English skills Lack of knowledge of North American study methods Lack of knowledge/access to services Some obstacles your students face from their target institution in Canada: Astronomical Cost Unrealistic requirements Enrolment caps TOEFL or IELTS requirements, or work experience (vis. MBA programs). Slow turnover of documents affecting the study permit application process

Forget obstacles! Our English for Academic Purposes program enables students to get the background and skills they need to compete in university. As we cater specifically to newcomers and international students, our staff and professors build awareness of Canadian study culture, including methods, expectations and challenges. We offer free tutoring for all classes, and are always available for advising. Small class sizes mean students can actually talk to their professors and get to know everyone on a first-name basis. Our location allows for easy access to many partner schools

Imagine, at many universities, a bachelors program costs $25,000 - $35,000 per year. AC is about $12,000. At the very least, students can do their first 1-2 academic years in Canada at 40-50% of the cost, while learning valuable skills. Many universities in Canada inact enrolment caps for international students and disallow them from certain programs. We accept everyone qualified. We recommend TOEFL or IELTS; however, students can simply take our in house, language proficiency test with us, or in some cases, for very close partners, we offer the test to be administered through the agent. We turn over LOAs and other paperwork within hours. Not weeks or months.

Facts you need We have four intake dates: January, May, July, and September. Fast-tracking is an attractive feature for most of our students. Our transfer program enables students to go to any BCCAT institution or any other provincially accredited partner. These participating institutions accept AC credit classes, which means your clientele does not lose time to Canadian students and can complete in 4 years. We award Associate Degrees in Arts and Business. In 2012, we will also award the Associate of Science & Health Sciences. These can be used as credentials in their own right and as 60 credit transfer blocks to many Canadian universities. We also have a strong pre-MBA program running. The program gives preferential admissions to AC students when they go to our partnering institution.

Work and other options Upon completion of a two-year degree, students are eligible for a three year post graduation work permit. This is open to all industries and jobs. Work provides stability while building knowledge, credentials and marketable skills in the Canadian workplace. Students are also entitled to a work permit while studying at Alexander College, so long as they take 3 classes or more. For academically minded, longer term students, we believe this provides a more sensible alternative to work and study programs currently offered by language schools, because the work is concurrent –unlike a co-op– and the visa is easily extendable. Notably, this may lead to permanent residency, when conditions are met:
