For the hiring manager to learn more about the applicant and for the applicant to gain more knowledge about the position applied for

The person being interviewed, the hiring manager Sometimes there may be a panel of assistant managers, or a hiring committee

13 Common interview questions
Why should we hire you? What do you know about our company? What attracted you to this company? Tell us about yourself. List 5 words describing yourself. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What motivates you? Describe your work style. What are the qualities of a good leader? How do you stay organized? How are you when working under pressure? What was your favorite subject in school? Why? If you could have the perfect job, what would it be? Who are your heroes and why?

14 Interview do’s Know the exact time and location of your interview
Arrive at least 10 minutes early Be courteous and respectful Firm handshake Make eye contact Be friendly Use correct grammar and pronunciation Avoid fidgeting and slouching Be honest Have a positive attitude Focus on strengths Prepare questions for your interviewer Write and mail a “thank you” note to the interviewer

15 Interview don’ts Don’t be late
Don’t answer your cell phone or text (turn it off) Don’t chew gum Don’t bring a pet Don’t take anyone with you (parents, friend, etc.)

16 How to not get hired Sending your sibling to interview in your place.
Singing all of your responses to interview questions. Telling a knock-knock joke. Wearing a uniform from your former employer. Stating reasons you shouldn’t be hired. Stating that you would prefer a job elsewhere. Mentioning that your last manager was mean. Wearing your pajamas and slippers. Wearing a cat suit to your interview.
