Literacy
This week we have been writing lists of the different animals we have seen on our Arctic Ocean adventures. We have also been sequencing the story of The Rainbow Fish and have been talking about the different characters in the story. In addition to this we have been focusing on writing our phase 3 digraph and trigraph sounds.
This week we have continued our topic Under the Ocean. We have been learning about the animals that live in the ocean, their habitats and some animal food chains. We have also been designing and making our own fish and octopuses. We have also especially enjoyed reading ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister. From this story we have been talking about the importance of sharing with others.
Phonics
This week we have learnt the following Phase 3 sounds; er and air. Over the duration of next week please can you complete these sounds in your child’s sound book.
Maths
This week we have been learning about how to double numbers 1-5 and have been looking at halving shapes.
Next week we will be focusing on 3D shapes.
Notices .
Next Monday we are going on a trip to a Muslim Mosque in Fulwood to support our whole school multi-faith week. Please can everyone make sure that you have brought in your signed permission slip.
