Adjective An adjective is used to modify or describe a noun.
The YELLOW duck ran away.

An adjective will answer one of four questions:
What kind? NEW car Which one? EVERY page How many? ONE hamburger How much? LITTLE rain

Articles The common articles are the, a, and an.
These are the most frequently used adjectives. THE is considered a definite article that refers to a specific person, place or thing. INDEFINITE articles A and An refer to one of a class of people, places, or things.

Adjectives may come before or after the word it modifies or describes.
the canoe yellow dog The attic, creepy and dark, scared me.

Nouns as adjectives When a noun is used as an adjective, it comes before another noun and answers the question: What Kind? And Which One? Ex: a shoe salesperson

Proper Adjectives A proper adjective is formed from a proper noun and begins with a capital letter. A proper noun used as an adjective OR an adjective formed from a proper noun. Examples: Mexican food, Jamaican music, Victorian ideas, Florida wetlands. It comes before another noun and answers the question which or what kind.

Compound Adjectives A compound adjective is made up of more than one word. Examples: well-known, featherweight, full-time, freshwater

An adverb tells you more about a verb (doing word)
ADVERBS It tells you where, why, or how much something happens or is done.
