1 Under 10s Explained IWHCA Competition

2 Game Attributes The game has been modified but is a step up from under 9s designed to transition players in proper cricket There are competition points & player statistics There are 11 batsman & fielders Bowling is from one end There is no Leg Before Wicket (LBW) An over consists of six balls regardless of what is bowled The ball is a 142g leather cricket ball The game is 30 overs each side Pads, gloves & helmets are mandatory for all batsman A 10 metre fielding exclusion zone exists

3 Important Numbers Under 10s Under 9s Boundary radius 40 metres
Pitch Length (stump to stump) Full length 18 metres Innings Length 30 overs 24 overs Batting pairs bat for NA 6 overs Max overs for a bowler 3 overs Distance fielder must be away from the batsman (excludes keeper) 10 metres

4 Batsman gets out The loss of a wicket is recorded on the score sheet
The batsman is out and new batsman comes in Note if a batsman scores 25, they are retired but can come back at after the rest of the order has batted

5 Bowling Maximum of two consecutive overs per bowler
Front foot “No balls” don’t apply The “No Ball” rule in relation to throwing does apply, it is expected that everyone bowl overarm

6 Coach/Manager When Bowling When Batting Umpires at the bowlers end when their team is in the field Can coach on the field (in particular the bowlers) Keep the fielding side alert & keep the over rate moving along When their side is batting they umpire at square leg Can coach the batsmen

7 Scoring Now proper cricket scoring Results entered into Mycricket

8 Equipment Stumps: 6 boundary markers each team (minimum) Balls
Proper wooden stumps 6 boundary markers each team (minimum) Balls 142g red leather per IWHCA approved list
