God Alone is the Source of True Wisdom
Prov. 1:7 – “the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” In Proverbs 8 God’s wisdom is personified Enables kings to govern – vv The agent of creation – vv The source of life – vv (Jews also personified the Word of God, as in Psalm 33:4)

The Messiah will be endowed with wisdom by the Spirit of God to judge the nations.

Isaiah 11 1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. 2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. 3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear, 4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.

and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. 14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

Jesus the Wisdom of God Jesus claimed to be greater than Solomon
Matt. 12:42 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

Jesus the Wisdom of God Jesus is not merely endowed with God’s wisdom – He is God’s wisdom 1 Cor. 1:22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Jesus the Wisdom of God Jesus is not merely endowed with God’s wisdom – He is God’s wisdom Colossians 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Jesus the Wisdom of God Jesus is not merely endowed with God’s wisdom – He is God’s Wisdom John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word (logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Jesus communicates the idea of God to us Jn. 1:14 – The Word became flesh Jn. 1:18 – The one at the Father’s side has “made him known” Jn. 14:9 – Seen Me, seen the Father Col. 1:15 – He is the image of the invisible God

What Is God Like? He intends to make right what has gone wrong in His creation He loves His creation He loves His creation enough to suffer to save it

As the Wise King, Jesus will judge righteously.

2 Corinthians 5 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
