Skills Skills I have developed as Web/Social Media administrator for BCU Student Services (Careers and Job Prospects). The ability to give web administrative support. Maintaining daily activity on the Careers and Job Prospects social media accounts. Google Analytics Specifically I maintain and update web content on the Careers and Job Prospects iCity and external web pages. Both maintaining content that exists as well as developing new content. One of the things I’m working on at the minute is developing a hand out on how to use Social Media and a blog/webpage to network and job search which will be added onto their iCity skills section. I’ve also researched Employer and Vacancy sources to add onto the ELSS and Business School pages. I also promote events and workshops the careers team are running on Social Media as well as creating events on iCity and eventbrite for students to register to. Namely Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. There is evidence of growth on these sites since my start date. FIGURES For my reports on traffic and traffic sources I have become familiar with Google Analytics. This will be useful for my aspirational career destination in Marketing as I will have become familiar with the collation and distribution of data.

Projects and Research Position as Level-Up Mentor
Research Assignments – to view ! On line 6/7 the words ‘Government forces’ particularly the latter word ‘forces’ suggests oppression and therefore danger. According to the ‘Oxford English Dictionary’ the word ‘forces’ means “As an attribute of physical action or movement: Strength, impetus, violence, or intensity of effect.” OR some of the more severe meanings state “To use violence to; to violate, ravish”. (This also suggests the idea of otherness, to view the government in this space as the enemy. My duties as ‘Level Up Mentor’ included participation in seminars and workshops for the ‘What Works’ programme, strategic level planning. Coming up with ideas. Presented the ideas and got the funding to go forward with this project. Putting those ideas into practice the creation and administration of a Moodle-‐ based learning plaform, pre-‐induction activities via social media, collaboration on the organisation of induction activities and eventually post-‐induction arrangements

Dissertation Proposal
How are gendered orientalist discourses represented in The Guardian? When carrying out an analysis of the way that meanings are communicated through a combination of linguistic and visual representational strategies, it is important to identify how the different affordances of the two modes have been used to create different meanings. (Mayr and Machin, 2012).
