3Ws 1. What do we mean by Social Responsibililty?
2. Who is supposed to be Social Responsible 3. Where do we show Social Responsibility?

DEFINATIONS It is a moral (internal) concern with the injustice in the society, including poverty, discrimination, segregation, oppression. Such concern is followed by (external) action in the form of Social Assistance or Social Service.

Deut15:7&8 7 If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard heartened or tightfisted towards them 8 Rather be open handed and freely lend them whatever they need

Deut15:10&11 10 Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. 11 “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be open handed toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.”

Ps68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling.

Matt6:1-2 1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others…

Matt6:2b-3 2bTruly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing...

Acts4:32 32 All believers were one heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had

1Corith8:5-7 5 And They exceeded our expectations: they gave themselves to the Lord and then by the will of God also to us. 7 But since you excel in everything-----in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you----see that you excel in this grace of giving

Ps9:18 But God will never forget the needy: the hope of the afflicted will never perish.

Matt25:42-43 42 “For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not cloth me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.”

Matt25:44-45 44 They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison and did not help you.’ 45 He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

1John3:17-18 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth

James2:15-16 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes or daily food. 16 If one says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs what good is it?
