2 Mission and Key Objectives
Research Mission To undertake rigorous research that answers the major questions facing business leaders, policy makers and practitioners nationally and internationally with a particular focus on: International investments and finance Strategic HR, team working and leaderships Entrepreneurship and innovation The practice of strategy and performance management

3 Research Groups ABS is divided into 6 distinctive research groups. 4 Research Centres ABS is also host to a number of centres which explore emerging research topics: Aston Centre for Human Resources (ACHR) Centre for Performance Measurement and Management (CEPMMA) Elshaarani Centre for Islamic Business & Finance (EIBF) Aston Centre for Higher Education Learning and Management (HELM) Institute for Health Services Effectiveness (IHSE) Aston Centre for Critical Infrastructure and Services (ACCIS) Aston Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Language and Diversity (InterLanD) Aston India Foundation for Applied Research (AIFAR) European Risk Research Network (ERRN) Social Responsibility & Sustainability Group (SRSG)

5 Support for Research AARM provides the following support to academic staff: Administration for the REF2014 PURE (University system containing data on all academic staff) Provision of funding for research expenses Visiting scholars scheme Research ethics for PhD students and academic staff Working paper series Organisation of conferences and events, including ABS research days and ECR events REF2013: New method of the funding and assessment of research within the UK following the RAE 2008
