Features This category constitutes a majority of HCPS schools Attendance Zone may have a satellite attendance area This may occur because of school performance, diversity implications, or necessity Attendance Area Schools

Transportation Features Transportation provided for students outside of a 2- mile zone of the school Transportation Implications Student Bus ride is often minimal Parent May drive student to school Dropoff line may be substantial at certain sites Community Area traffic due to parent dropoff Attendance Area Schools

33 Schools, 34 Programs (10 Ele, 10 MS, 11 HS, 2 K-8) Implemented to address diversity and educational equity Programs are school wide on the middle and elementary levels; high schools feature programs within the school (often 30-50% of the student population) No Attendance Zones—100% application Nearly 12,000 HCPS students utilize Magnet transportation Magnet Schools

Choice School Options Features HCPS is a “Choice District”
Students may choose a magnet or a non-magnet school and have access to that school depending on seat availability and application criteria, where applicable Often feature attractor programs (STEM, Leadership, Aviation) Open across the district Programs are implemented to augment education for students Choice School Options

Regular transportation is provided for students assigned to the school Some transportation provided for application students As with Attendance Area Schools, no transportation provided within 2 mile zone Transportation Implications Student Bus ride may be minimal because transportation is typically provided only to students in that school’s attendance zone and immediate area Parent May drive student to school Dropoff line may be substantial Community Area traffic due to parent dropoff Choice School Options
