I hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend.
Reading:
We will be finishing up letter Z Monday and Tuesday then do a 3 day review of the letters we’ve learned so far, A, E, K, M, R, S and W.
We have nightly reading homework. Please help your student develop good habits by ensuring your student reads their homework 3 times each night and shares their learning and communication folders with you. Thank you!
Math
This week we developed an understanding of patterns. We made zoo animal sound patterns! Then we will made clap, slap, snap patterns and assign each a letter to develop ABAB and variations of patterns with assigned letters. Next we will make unifix cube patterns and finally create our own and document them.
Writing:
We will write about the best part of Thanksgiving and use family names this week.
Science/Social Studies:
We will be continuing to focus on respectful manners such as follow directions fast and raise your hand to be the speaker.
Focus: Whisper while we work.
It is getting cold.
We go outside for recess.
Thank you for dressing your kindergartener appropriately for changing weather conditions.
Please check your student’s folders daily.
The only piece of homework your child needs in their red folder each day is the homework from the previous day. We do quick read in the morning to a partner
