PARENTS: How can you help us
Keep in contact with the school regarding your student’s attendance The parent portal is your friend (access via school website) Stay involved in the life of your student and encourage them to get involved Report concerns to the school at the first sign of problems

Tentative Dates: June 27th – July 15th An opportunity to get ahead in credits. Become familiar with CHS before the school year starts.

Successful completion of the High School and Beyond Plan. Successful completion of the Certificate of Academic Achievement. Meet standard on SBAC ELA exam (Jr. year) Meet standard on SBAC Math exam (Jr. year) Meet standard on Biology EOC exam (Sophomore year) Options available after not meeting standard(s) COE for ELA, Math and/or Science Grade Comparison ACT/SAT cut scores (Science only available through ACT) AP Exam cut scores (not available for science)

English pg. 6-7 4 years of English is required:
9 English English ADV You may also be signed up for a class called English Language Arts. This one hour class will help you with your literacy skills and give you tips on how to be a successful Riverhawk. You will be assigned this class if you score below grade-level on your MSP and MAP test scores.

Math pg. 7 Students will register for Algebra, Geometry or Algebra 3/4 You may also be signed up for an Algebra Lab This one hour class will help you with your math skills. You will be assigned this class if you score below grade-level on your MSP and MAP test scores.

Earth / Physical Science MESA Math and Engineering focus Ag Science 1-2 Chemistry Successfully passed Alg ½ in middle school.

Fitness & Health pg 10-11 Fitness 1 9 Ath Wt Training 1 or 2 *Recommended if you are playing sports. Must get a signature from coach, teacher or athletic director. You will take: 9ath wts 1st sem 9ath wts 2nd sem Football, Cross Country Track, Boys Soccer, Baseball Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Golf, Tennis Wrestling, Girls Soccer, Dance You may take a year long PE if you take one less elective too!

ELECTIVES the rest of the book
Electives will be based on whether or not you are given a extra class for English and/or Math. Write your elective in the order of preference. Make sure the course code is written correctly.

Students: Get Involved!
Sports in High School: Boys Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Cross Country, Golf, Track, Tennis, Soccer Girls Volleyball, Basketball, Bowling, Softball, Cross Country, Golf, Track, Tennis, Soccer, Cheerleading, Dance You must have a 2.0 gpa in the 4th quarter of Middle School to be Eligible to play. Clubs in High School: Key, International, Ski, Honors Society, , Pre-Med*, MEChA, Chess, Hawk Squad….Lots more!! Stop by their booths out in the mall.0

AVID at CHS Advancement Via Individual Determination
A structured, college preparatory system working directly with an AVID elective class and students. Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics Goal To offer a STEM based curriculum that will help prepare and inspire students for a STEM career. Science, English & Robotics work together on project based assignments that align to each classes standards. Students will experience: Field Trips Guest Speakers STEM Challenges Project Competitions Exposure to STEM careers & opportunities
