1. Why are we contacting you?
We would like to use the data we have collected about you in the SPIRIT 2 trial, to carry out further research in new research projects about CML and CML treatments.
Why is data sharing important?
There is still a lot to learn about CML and CML treatments. The trial data we hold about you will enable researchers in the UK and abroad to carry out projects now to answer questions such as:
How common is CML?
How are people with CML treated?
How well do people respond to current forms of treatment?
What about confidentiality?
Your data will only be released to researchers for specific projects that have received the appropriate approvals (i.e. ethical and regulatory) and data provided will not contain your name, initials or NHS number. Therefore any researchers using your data will be unable to identify you.
