8.45am – Children can come into school playground
9.15 – Bell for beginning of classes
After 9.15 am – marked late

4. General Information
Dinners – Currently £2.60 per day, (in envelopes with child’s name and class on Friday only. Please do not enclose any other money for trips etc)
Breakfast Club – £1 per morning
Uniform
Full uniform should be worn at all times.
PE – Fridays(first term – wear full school P.E uniform)

Swimming in Term 3
Any money relating to trips etc MUST be handed to class teacher in envelope with child’s name on front.

Concentrates on developing children’s knowledge, attitudes, skills, relationships, behaviour, TSPC, emotional awareness, values and life skills.

10. Linguistic Phonics Whole school programme
Children should understand the relationship between their spoken language and the written word.
Spellings given on Monday.
Dictation test on Monday spellings will be held on the following week.
A particular sound is explored each week.
Important to work on spellings every night.
Incidental work very effective.

Develop comprehension skills and answering in full sentences.

Aim
To consolidate and reinforce the learning skills and knowledge that has gone on in school.
Spellings, Reading, Maths, English, Mathletics and other activities related to class work

Important to check and sign homework and homework diary to be signed every night.

16. Reporting to Parents/Assessment
Parent/teacher meeting 2nd December.
Meeting may be arranged with teacher by appointment.
Literacy/Numeracy jotters sent home every few weeks to be checked and signed by parent.
Assessment
Weekly dictation tests.
Weekly mental math tests.

17. Other information Child’s name on all school uniform.
Reading diary to be signed when child completes his/her reading. Also check folders for notes. All money, notes, school related books to be kept in plastic folder.
Encourage lots of supplementary reading of library books etc.
Old trainers/gutties to be kept in school for Golden Mile.
