Reflection How did you invent categories and criteria for PE #5? Did you experience any challenges in composing it? If so, what? What audience were you envisioning for PE #5? If you were to change your audience to, say, young children, how would the criteria you developed change? Your criteria are warrants—assumptions you might share with your audience. So, for an audience unlike yourself, you would need to justify your criteria.

Obituary Analysis What types of criteria of evaluation hold the obituary together? Why should we respect or admire the person? Skim the obituary. Figure out the “category” of the person—what was their profession or vocation? Re-read the obituary. Now focus on analyzing the criteria of evaluation. By what standards are they measured? Consult with your team to finalize your list of criteria.
